1. The clay tile was my favorite piece out of all the art work we have done. Also I think it was one of my most successful pieces that I did. It is my favorite because I got to use a lot of different styles of art, working with the clay and panting the finally product. When we where making it out of clay it was fun trying to mold the clay into a picture you wanted. I also learned that when you are attaching different pieces of clay together you have to score and slip to make them stick together. When we where staring to pant it was fun using the different colors to give the tile depth and value. It was one of the most successful pieces I did because the finally product turned out just like I wanted it to look. Overall I am very proud of my tile because it was fun it make and looks great.
2. I learned a lot from the game drawing form value to perspective. When we first started this piece I was a little hasten but in the end I learned a lot. One thing I learned was perspective, when doing perspective it can be tricky because you have to know when to make things smaller or bigger. To start off you make two points that your picture is going to be based on. Then when you start to draw you have to make things smaller as you go back so they look far away. After you are done drawing you have to add value to make the perspective better. To add value you have to go from dark to light gradually and make shadows on the lighter side to make it look like a light scours is shining on the pieces. So in my drawing you can see its lighter in the front and darker in the back.
3. To get the look in my landscape I used a lot of the things I learned on previous pieces. In the clouds I use blending to get them to look more transpant and less cotten ball like. Then in the barn and house I use perspective to make it look like the barn was off in the distenes. In the house itself I used differnet shades of gray to make the house look less flat and basic. In the grass I used value by making the top of the grass to look far away. Then the grass closer to use to look lighter by making it light and smooth. With the fence I used shadows to look like the sun was shinaing in the top left corner without puting the sun in. With the help of all I learned I the piece turned out wonderful.
4. I feel that the stencil was the least important in learning about the concepts of art. When we did this project it was a little easy and hard. It was easy because all we really had to do was pick a picture and spray paint it on a cologne. After we picked the picture we changed the picture by making it black and white and cut it out with an X-acto knife. After we cut it out we made the cologne out of torn up paper. When doing this project it really didn't teach me that much. The hard part was trying to make the colors go together and look good, but it was hard because the spray paint was hard to control. Overall the piece looked OK and I really didn't learn much.
5. I think this print reflects me as an artist in a lot of ways. First it has a lot of pattern and texture that I really like and go together. Then it is my favorite color and is in my favorite season (fall). Next the print is a print inspired by my dog and how much he loves the woods. Also I like the print because it was fun using the ink. Ink is a medium that I have never used and it was different. Finally it reflexes me by achieving something that was different from drawing and making a stamp.
